ABL’s standard pin uses a high tensile steel alloy that, when heat treated with a proprietary process, provides exceptionally long service life when compared to induction hardened or overlay pins. This method combines a very high surface hardness and through hardened material. ABL’s pin manufacturing process produces a pin with a 60+ RC initial surface hardness that maintains a hardness of 50-55 RC all the way to the center as it wears. Pin ductility is maintained throughout this process. ABL manufactures its pins on state of the art CNC turning centers which yield a 75-100 RMS finish. To maintain maximum pin hardness and service life, ABL recommends the use of its unique bushings which are produced from a proprietary metallurgy and CNC machined to exacting specifications.
